The Greek gods, and how the non-believers still refer to them

Muhammed Salih al-Munajjed wrote a book about how the Olympic games are haraam because of their pagan origins and associations with ancient Greek mythology. Similarly, ‘Nike’ was the Greek goddess of victory, so some scholars equated wearing clothes with ‘Nike’ written on it with wearing a t-shirt saying ‘Hubal’ or ‘Vishnu’. Now Muslims are more concerned to package-up Afghan women and send them to the Olympics to beg for acceptance from the West, a much more important issue.

The ‘West’ has absorbed the Graeco-Roman identity as part of its culture, but this is an artificial idea. Actually the Greek and Roman civilizations were based in the south and the east of the Mediterranean, not in northern and western Europe. The centres of Roman and Greek culture were mainly in what are now or what were Muslim lands, such as the Mediterranean islands, north Africa, Egypt, Turkey, and Greater Syria. In fact, the Berbers, Copts and Syrians had much more to do with the Greeks and Romans than Europeans, certainly the Germanic peoples, including the English.

It is also wrong to imagine that the Greeks began the world; they themselves borrowed from the Egyptian civilization, and the Phonecians (from Canaan, the land of Ibrahim, peace be upon him) taught the inhabitants of Europe how to make brass and work with metals. One of the greatest cities of the ancient world, before Rome, was Carthage, in modern Tunisia, built by traders from Syria. When Hannibal was at the gates of Rome, the Romans buried children and virgins alive as a sacrifice to their gods; when the Romans invaded Carthage, the people burned their children alive as a sacrifice. According to DNA testing, 90% of Europeans are from Syria. When Ibn Kathir says that, people take it with a pinch of salt, when a DNA test says it it must be true.

In Plato’s (Greek) philosophy, a soul is split in half into two people, and if you find the right person with the other half of your soul then you have found your ‘soul mate’. The early Christians used to debate whether or not women had a soul, given that in their religion they are intrinsically evil and the cause of the Fall from Eden. The solution was the verse attributed to Jesus, ‘Men and women are not married in the afterlife, they are like angels in heaven’, which was fused with the Platonic idea of the soul mate, to say that a woman could hitch a ride into Heaven by being joined to her husband’s soul. Thus in the Christian wedding ceremony the priest says ‘Man and wife are one flesh; what God has joined, let no man split asunder’ – in Christian law, a man and his wife are one thing, so she takes his name. This also led to the innovation in Christianity of only having one wife; in the Jewish law, a man can have as many wives as he wants, and some prophets were said to have hundreds. Another verse attributed to Jesus says ‘I have not come to overturn the (Jewish) law, I have come to confirm it’. Until 1870 in Britain, a married woman’s property, along with her body and her soul, automatically belonged to her husband.

What’s the point of this? Those were past nations, with no relevance to us or our lives. If we want to look for ignorance, superstition, and backwardness, there is no better example than the modern Muslim world, which has rejected the words of Allah in favour of slavishly imitating the West in superficial aspects. I think the reason the West considers itself superior to other cultures has more to do with the fact that they have a vastly superior material civilization. This is because they follow aspects of Islam which the Muslims have abandoned.

Muslims still follow personal aspects of Islam, such as prayer, and fasting, hospitality, and many other positive things. But Islam stops at the doors of the masjid and the house. In the West, workers are paid well, and their conditions are good, so they work more efficiently and produce better things. In the Muslim world people are too busy thinking of how to stab each other in the back and fill their own bellies, workers are treated as slaves (in fact, you cannot treat slaves in Islam as modern Muslim workers are treated), so they lie and steal and cheat and have a weak and pathetic civilization.

In Europe you don’t even think about throwing you glass bottle in the street; the streets in most of the Muslim world are filthy, but you step in someone’s house and it’s like a palace. Go to the Muslim world with enough money and you can do anything you want, just bribe the police. In Britain you don’t even think about bribing the policeman.
Thus all of the paedophiles from Europe go to Morocco if they want to have a really good time. Go to an office in the Muslim world and they will treat you like an annoyance to be got rid of; go to an office in Europe and they will try to help you. Try phoning a Muslim embassy and ask about something, just as an experiment! I personally have seen people who have memorised all of Qur’an who will walk over your body to get on a bus before you. This is not an exaggeration.

In the Muslim world you get a job based on boot-licking and knowing the right people, in the West talent is rewarded. In the Muslim world, mindless obedience and absolute loyalty to institutions are demanded; the method of education is ‘listen and repeat’, with no thought involved. In the West, dissent, discussion, and free thought are encouraged, the method of education is ‘think’ and analyse. Because of this the Muslim countries are weak, and the West is strong. The Japanese Ministry of Economy did a study a few years ago of useful inventions of the Twentieth Century. They said 60% were British, 20% American, 5% Japanese. The rest were mainly European.

Despite the obvious reality that the West is superior to us in everything except creed, many Muslims still feel themselves to be superior just because of their belief, regardless of their actions.
This attitude is similar to a different nation. In fact, because we do not act on our beliefs, we have no civilization to support and carry Islam (such as an Islamic state). Because of that, the dawah is weak and feeble. In fact the Muslims should be superior in everything, because of Islam, but because we have failed in these social aspects we feel as though it is a competion between East and West, instead of the overcoming of Falsehood by Truth.

The sad thing is that this has been the reality for more than 100 years, and it doesn’t look like it’s changing any time soon. As a result, tiny American women can chain up the naked Muslims of Iraq like dogs with impunity (as in Abu Ghraib). Anyone can take anything they want from us, there will be no response whatsoever.

The honour of the prophet PEACE BE UPON HIM is violated, and we are powerless to stop it. Now they have made a sex film about him and his wives in Holland. Major Dutch companies threatened legal action against the makers of the film if the Muslims boycotted Dutch products, and urged the government to make such actions illegal (as they incite ‘hatred and violence’ – i.e. these companies lose millions of Euros). They needn’t worry, half of the Muslims don’t give a stuff about boycotting, another quarter say it is bidaah. Most are hopeless automatons, content to say ‘What can I do? We need leaders to tell us’
whenever you suggest they should do something.
