IDC @ Diversity Week 1st – 4th December 2008
IDC is proud to present ‘Islam: Racism & Slavery’ in conjunction with Northumbria University Islamic Society as aprt of the Northumbria University Students Union Diversity Week.
3 presentations are scheduled for the Diversity week from Monday 1st December to Thursday 4th December, which will prove to be a highly beneficial and informative set of presentations to enlighten the individual about extremely important and topical issues in contemporary times.
Our guest speakers are highly experienced and qualified in the topics being discussed , which is being timely addressed after the celebration of black history month and the recognition of the slave trade. The following topics are being presented: Monday 1st December ‘Islam, Africa & the Slave Trade’ AbdulHaq Ashanti [UK] ‘enslavement’ Abu Imraan Eshroko[RUS] Thursday 4th December ‘Islam’s Solution to Racism’ Abu Usamah ath-Thahabi [USA]. All presentations will start at 7pm sharp and there will opportunities to visit stalls and register on the door from 6pm.
